“From the beginning of my participation in photography I have alwys felt tha it was a form of Art.
I have believed that we must be true to our medium. That we must know where we have been and where we are going in order to make something original out of our art.
I have always tried to keep truth in my photographs. My work, wheter realistic or abstract, has always dealt with either a form of religion or imagination. In this exhibition I deal mainly with the “surreal”, which I feel is the special province of photography.”” RALPH EUGENE MEATYARD (Brooks Johnson, Photography Speaks – 150 Photographers on their Art, Apperture Foundation / Chrysler Museum of Art, New York, 2004)
